How To Use Step Block And Clamp?
Original: Original | Author: Jasmine HL of DGMF | Publish Time: 2020-01-18 | 10519 Views | Share:
The step block clamps are used as adjustable supporting blocks at the rear of the clamp while clamping the workpiece. Different heights can be achieved by using a combination of two different step blocks sizes. Step block clamps are available in pairs. A pair consists of 2 identical step block clamps.

How to use step block and clamp--DGMF Mold Clamps Co., Ltd

A combination of two-step blocks clamps of the same or different sizes is kept as support under one stepped strap clamp. See the below picture showing. But in case of use of step block clamps with stepped strap clamp, shown as below picture. Only one step block clamp with a suitable size is kept as support under one stepped strap clamp.

Step block clamps should be set close together to keep from bending the work. Washers and nuts should be in excellent condition. The slots and ways of the table, base, or vise must be free of all dirt and chips. All work holding devices should be free of burrs and wiped clean of oil and grease. Step block clamps and the workpieces should be the right size for the job. Clamping devices that are too big or too small for the job are dangerous and must be avoided.

Table or Base Mounting
step block and clamps are mounted on the mold base -- DGMF Mold Clamps Co., Ltd
When a workpiece is a table or base mounted, the stepped strap clamps must be as parallel to the table or base as possible. All clamping bolts and stepped strap clamps should be as short as possible for rigidity and to provide for drilling clearance.
